About Sokolutions

Sokolutions is built on the foundation of founder Benjamin Sokolowski’s career in industrial plant construction, which began in 2009 as an apprentice plant mechanic at Evonik IndustriesIn 2009, driven by a desire to understand how plants really work.

After completing my apprenticeship, I initially worked in plant maintenance, handling smaller projects—first with a hands-on approach and then increasingly from an organizational perspective. To further pursue my goals in plant construction, I began part-time training in 2015 to become an Advanced Professional Qualification in Industrial Supervision – Metalworking (Bachelor Professional of Metal Production and Management CCI).

After completing my advanced training as an Industrial Supervision – Metalworking I had the opportunity in 2018 to delve deeper into the field of plant construction projects and turnarounds as a mechanical supervisor at Evonik Industries. In this role, I was able to significantly expand my knowledge of plant construction.
During this time, I had the opportunity to take on more and more responsibility and led several medium-sized pilot plant construction projects for Ashland, Ineos and Evonik Industries.

While working at Evonik Industries, I was able to further my professional education from 2018 to 2020 by earning a Master Professional of Technical Management degree on a part-time basis.

Starting in August 2021, I had the opportunity to demonstrate my expertise in plant construction for the first time in the role of Construction Manager (overall site management) for a major plant construction project—a complete success!
Starting in April 2022, I was then officially appointed to the position of Construction Manager and successfully brought additional plant construction projects for Evonik Industries to completion.

In June 2024, I wanted to try something new—I joined Sunfire SE in Dresden to do my part for the energy transition and gain new insights into plant construction.

At Sunfire, as a Senior Engineer Construction and Site Manager, I was able to significantly expand my knowledge and skills in the areas of industrial electrolysis, construction site management abroad, factory acceptance tests, and prototype construction during various international projects in Germany, Finland, Poland, Greece, and Spain.
During this exciting time, I not only had the opportunity to work in a wide variety of locations, but also to collaborate with various companies and interesting personalities, including
working on various projects and in different roles with clients such as RWE, UNIPER, Repsol, and Petronor.

In early 2026, my wife and I moved to her home country, Colombia. At the same time, it was time for me to start a new chapter and finally fulfill my long-held dream—becoming self-employed! “Sokolutions”

How Sokolutions Works Today
Every Sokolutions engagement is currently led and executed personally by Benjamin — direct access to senior, hands-on plant construction expertise, without account managers or layers of bureaucracy in between.

As project volume grows, this same standard — hands-on, senior-led, built on German and European engineering discipline — will define how Sokolutions scales. The goal: growing into a full regional EPC capability across Colombia and Latin America, built on a network of European- and US-trained engineers and technicians fluent in German, English and Spanish.
